Bikram Yoga is a series of 26 yoga postures and two breathing exercises taught in a 90-minute class. Each pose is a challenge based on personal abilities. The postures are done in the safe environment of a heated room so that deep penetration can relieve the body’s resistance without risk of injury. The postures create a complete workout (including cardio) without pounding the spinal column or other joints of the body.
By the end of class, you will have worked every muscle, tendon, joint, ligament, internal organ and gland while systematically delivering oxygenated blood to 100% of your body. The result is restoration of health to all body systems. As you increase your strength, flexibility and balance, you will eliminate the many effects of stress created by a fast-paced lifestyle.
